Before the age of 23 I had acquired several properties. Though accomplished wth little to no money down, I struggled for a clear understanding of Real Estate Investing in two of the most progressive markets in which I held these properties: Washington, DC and New York. However, I approached a career in Real Estate Investing and like most young investors ended up with overflowing Home Equity Lines from "investment deals too good to pass up," but also an interesting and very lucrative journey through Rental Property Investing, Rehab and Assignment Flipping, Foreclosures, and even the occasional Mortgage Note Assignment.
I even spent time as a 'mole' in the Banking industry. This experience proved invaluable as I learned the definition of 'prime,' how to calculate closing costs, which too often than not destroyed my perfect equation for investment success, and the importance and necessity of Real Estate Professionals.
With a new confidence I continued to scavage my two investment hot spots, even exploring other 'up-and-coming' markets. I have become a self-proclaimed 'Real Estate Market Analyst.' coining such terms at the "SOHA Effect," which foreshadows a new investment niche and how the name will conveniently change. The term derives from an area in Harlem, NY. Once known as 'Spanish Harlem' it is now referred to as SOHA, like the ultra-fab SOHO in downtown Manhattan, both for its close proximity to lower Manhattan, and the exorbitant property prices that are emerging. Take note friends! Is SOBO next?
